Keynote speaker

Dr Jonathan D. Levy, Deputy Chief Economist at the US Federal Communications Commission.

Abstract

Jonathan will focus on the policy implications of new developments in the production and distribution of media content.  He will draw some comparisons between the US and Australian regulatory approaches.  He will emphasize the interaction of communications and copyright law, the supply and demand of local versus national programming, competition amongst distribution platforms, and how technological change lowers barriers to entry into content production.
